About
"My artistic endeavors delve into modern African-American portraiture, aiming to depict facets of black identity. I expand upon these visual narratives by incorporating elements that resonate with black experiences in America and the broader African diaspora. My pieces engage with the concept of diverse black identities, drawing inspiration from graffiti art, abstract expressionism, African motifs, urban landscapes, and hip-hop culture. By repurposing materials and blending traditional and unconventional mediums, I aim to challenge perceptions and empower the representation of black individuals. Through my art, I strive to shed light on both the public and private dialogues within black culture, exploring the aesthetics that we embrace as a means of reclaiming agency and expressing our truths."
